The cello is a string instrument larger than the violin and the viola, with a soft, velvety sound. You can start playing the cello at any age. Cellos come in different sizes, and the instrument is chosen to fit the player. Your teacher can advise you on buying an instrument. Regular daily practice over the long term is important when learning an instrument, and parents' support plays a big part in this.
