In music playschool, children learn music by doing rather than through explanation. Through singing, games, playing, rhymes and movement, children absorb the basics of rhythm, melody, harmony and form before they can name them.
Early childhood music education is goal-oriented and supports children's motor and cognitive development, their personality as a whole and their social growth. Groups are formed by age, and teaching takes each stage of development into account.
Children can start music playschool as babies. Avonia runs music playschool groups in Espoo daycare centres as part of the daycare day. From music playschool, it is natural to continue to preparatory studies and from there to lessons on an instrument of their own.
