At Avonia, playing together is not an extra – it is part of the studies. It creates opportunities for learning through social interaction and brings peer support and a sense of belonging to a group.
There are ensembles for different levels and instruments: Ainova children's choir, the string orchestras Arco, Legato and Pizzicato, the Avonia Guitar Orchestra, bands, flute group, cello ensemble, folk music group and Westendin soittoniekat.
Playing together is a natural part of studies from the very start. In orchestras, ensembles and bands, students learn to listen to each other and to understand rhythm, melody and harmony together.
