Viola

You can start at any age.

The viola is a string instrument that looks like a violin. It is slightly larger and has a lower range than the violin. Like the violin, the viola has four strings, but instead of the high E string it has a low C string. You can start playing the viola at any age. Violas come in different sizes, and the instrument is chosen to fit the player. Your teacher can advise you on buying an instrument. Regular daily practice over the long term is important when learning an instrument, and parents' support plays a big part in this.
