AMP is the pop, rock and jazz version of music perception studies (music theory). As the name says, it focuses on the cultural heritage that pop, rock and jazz are built on.
Theory and playing happen in the same room, in the same lesson: theory, ear training, transcription and band playing are combined into one subject. Each weekly lesson has a theory part and a band rehearsal.
This way, what you learn is put to use straight away: a chord you've just studied in theory is played in the band on your own instrument in the same lesson.
